All of the images on this website have been drum scanned by us using our Imacon Drum Scanner. These scanners are the best in the industry and we offer a personalised service when it comes to scanning.
This means that we dont simply mount your film and run an auto correction over the scan, instead
when inspect your film and then using advanced tools in the Imacon software we make detailed adjustments in the colour channels and also the tonality of the image to get the best possible scan for you maxamising detail in both shadows and highlights.
We have made a video showing you what we mean about a personalised scanning service.
All of our scans are done as .tiff files and film is scanning in the ProPhoto colour space as a default. Adobe RGB (smaller colour space that ProPhoto) can be requested. We can scan Medium format film and 35mm film.
We offer a flat rate scanning price of $14 per image. Regardless of film format.
617 film is scanned @ 400dpi
612 to 6 x 4.5 is scanned at 800dpi
35mm & Xpan is scanned at 3200dpi.
All scanning dpi's are done at True Optical which means that the scanner is scanning the image pixel for pixel with its own sensor.
Not scanning at a true optical resolution means that your image size is being interpolated and the file size given is not a true representation of the files size or resolution.
To give you an idea of what size you can print from our scans, with a 617 400 dpi scan we can easly print a 75 inch wide fine art photograph on FujiFlex paper thats printed at 300dpi at a prolab.
Larger Dpi's scan be done for 617 to 6 x 4.5
film on request.
